James Albert Michener (February 3, 1907 - October 16, 1997) was an American author of more than 40 titles, the majority of which are novels of sweeping sagas, covering the lives of many generations in a particular geographic locale and incorporating historical facts into the story as well. Michener was known for the meticulous research behind his work. Because his books tend to be fairly long, it is sometimes said that "Michener tends to write by the pound."
Michener's major books include Tales of the South Pacific (for which he won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1948), Hawaii, The Drifters, Centennial, The Source, The Fires of Spring, Chesapeake, Caribbean, Caravans, Alaska, Texas, and Poland. His nonfiction works include his 1968 Iberia about his travels in Spain and Portugal, his 1992 memoir The World is My Home, and Sports in America

While constructing wooden golf course bridges, you do need to study in greater depth the soil and land structure as you decide upon the support systems of the wood bridges. Also you need to check out whether the water flowing is a deep water body or a swiftly flowing river brook or stream along with the footing condition.
Wood bridges on golf courses could be a combination of tanalised wood as well metal. Tanalised wood is pressure heated wood which enjoys a long lasting life and is easy to maintain apart from being affordable. You could always use the tanalised wood in natural colour or even go for change of shade by painting it with a preferred shade of wood. When using metal parts and structural supports it becomes essential to check whether they are treated against corrosion and rust.
The wood bridge could be arched shaped, with railings either straight or diagonal for support and guard. The golf bridge should enhance the entire overview of the golf course as well. A Wooden golf course bridge so constructed will help golfers and other people to traverse across the golf course in an easy and quick manner. At the same time, the wood bridges should be in a position to bear the to and fro movement of golf buggies and other maintenance vehicles which will be plying on them on off and on basis.
Apart of functionality and main purpose of constructing a golf course bridge, the bridge will but naturally enhance and accentuate the entire golf course area.
