Taking a day train from Vienna to Paris?
I would like to travel from Vienna to Paris by a day train. I could not find any info about direct train. What will be the good option for day-train travel from Vienna to Paris, Please?
Thanks LaFeeFAn,
I was mainly thinking for day train to enjoy the landscape in the journey. Obviously Berlin Air will be a option. Now may be think to have a break in Frankfurt. But I do not hv that much time in hand. I wish the Orient Express was still running.
First of all, there is no direct train connecting Vienna and Paris. Some faster connections require four to five changes of trains, to include short change-over times. I would prefer the option with only one train change at Frankfurt/Main and a sufficient layover time to back-up delays.
depart Vienna West 08:40 or 10:40
arrive Frankfurt/Main 15:36 or 17:38
depart Frankfurt/Main 16:58 or 19:01
arrive at Paris Est 20:51 or 22:53
As this is a typical flight destination, 1230 kilometers or 764 miles, you might consider the option of using a flight. Booked online a month in advance, AirBerlin for example offers flights from Vienna Airport to start at 18:55 to arrive at Paris (CDG)20:45. The cheapest offer amounts to 64,00 € to include all taxes, fares, and cerosin supplement for a one-way flight end September.
Plan B: Airport runway renovation approved
The Paris City Council on Monday approved a Texas Department of Public Safety runway renovation project for Cox Field at a cost of $1.67 million, with the city contributing almost $200,000.

Flying to Paris from New York City
How do you book the right flight to Paris from New York City? Which airlines have the least delays and which is the best way to go for the money? Flights to Paris all leave at night, which means any hang-ups the airport suffers throughout the day will affect your departure. Make sure you give yourself enough time for TSA security since the evening international flights tend to clog the checkpoints. Try to get through security between 10am and 2pm when the fewest flights depart. An option is to pay $100 per year and sign up for Clear Registered Travel. With this benefit, you can access a dedicated lane and you will not even have to remove your shoes. Clear has lanes at Terminals 1, 4 and 7 at JFK and Terminal B at Newark.
Even the best direct flights from JFK and Newark land on schedule less than 50 percent of the time. The best airline is Delta from JFK to Charles de Gaulle which leaves at 5pm, early enough to avoid some of the cascading delays of the evening. On a positive note, an Air France flight departing at 10:55pm have an average delay of only 30 minutes.
The diamond of the bunch is new luxury airline, LAvion. The company owns a single jet which leaves Newark six days a week at 7:05pm and lands at Orly at 7:45pm, 95 percent of the time. The luxury comes with a hefty price tag of $1,083.00 which guarantees you a comfortable business class flight. This is your only option with LAvion since the aircraft only caters to the business class flights. In comparison to other business class flights to Paris, LAvion is the best bet not only in being punctual but comfort. LAvion return flight leaves Paris at 2:50pm and arrives in Newark at 5:45pm. The flight to Paris to avoid at all costs is Air France 6pm departure which is delayed over 80 percent of the time.
Finally in Paris, a little jet-lagged but ready to go. Whatever you do, avoid falling asleep. This will truly spin the top of your body clock in Paris. My other tip is to avoid hotels at all costs. If your wallet allows, treat yourself to a first rate Paris luxe apartment. Paris Luxe has an extensive portfolio of magazine quality Paris apartments. For those not blessed with extra dollars, opt for the more reasonably price, Book Your Paris Apartment. These apartments are clean, centrally located and will not leave any holes burning in your pants.
